2019!
Last week, we had the chance to reflect on the incredible changes that 2018 brought to The Renewal Workshop and to the apparel industry more broadly. As we get ready to close out this spectacular, challenging, complex, beautiful year, we want to share some of our intentions for 2019. We have a big vision for what our growing company can do to make the planet healthier and we make that vision real every day through intentional choices. Here's what you can expect from us in 2019.
We'll continue to place impact at the center of our work. We still believe in and remain fundamentally committed to the idea that businesses have multiple responsibilities for generating positive, lasting value. For us, that means we solve hard problems and create new systems. Our work is to do what is good and right for people and for the planet. We restore value and reduce waste. We create jobs and treat people fairly. We serve customers kindly and work with partners cooperatively. We consciously choose to act with love in what we do and how we do it.
We'll be even more transparent. A big project for 2019 is to share more detail on the ways the Renewal Sensibility diverts waste and recovers value. Look for a new and improved Impact Score and more ways to understand how your purchases contribute to the combined impact of the Renewal Movement. And, get ready to follow the progress on Our Million Pound Promise.
We want to find more ways to engage with you - buying Renewed is important but it's not the only way to make a difference. We plan to explore more partnerships and find more ways to create excitement for going circular. Helping to galvanize the power of the circular consumer is a big part of our 2019 work.
We're going to ask more questions and listen more closely to what you want and need from us and from our partners to help you become a circular consumer. We'll be doing some new research through surveys and focus groups. We want your voices to shape the future of circular. This business has always been based on a trusted partnership, we want to grow that relationship even deeper in 2019.
We're committed to holding hard and tight to our Core Value of Service, Sensibility, Presence, Love and Light, Systems Thinking, and Self Determination. From the beginning, we've set out to build a culture, not just a company. Those values started with the founders and are shared and fostered by our work as a team with our investors, our partners, our vendors and with all of our customers. Values aren't things we hang on the wall, they are the foundation of all of our decisions.
Finally, we're entering 2019 with a deeper awareness of how finite the time we have with each other really is. Things can change in an instant. While we love to rush to celebrate the resilience of humans during hard times, we also must celebrate the vulnerability that we all share. We want 2019 to be a year where we take no one for granted, where the people we love know how much we love them because we took every chance to tell them and to show them.
We hope you'll hold some of these intentions with us. Above all else, know that you matter to us and we never take for granted all the amazing humans who are on this journey with us. May your 2019 be enlivened with hope and inspired by love.
