Ask Your Brand
In our Renewed Awareness Survey, (haven’t completed the survey yet? click here) we ask if there are any brands you would like to see have a renewed option. The Renewal Workshop is always working to build new partnerships and bring in more brands to our renewed family, but we might not be in conversation yet with your favorite brand. You can change that. In the survey, let us know what brands you want to see renewed. Then let them know. It’s a pretty simple task that can make a big difference. Here’s how you do it:
Go to your favorite brand’s website. Poke around and read through their statements on Responsibility or Sustainability. Then find the Contact Us section and use the email address they provide to send your request.
We've gotten emails from customers in the past requesting brands so we took those and them put together into a version that might inspire you. Feel free to cut and paste or create your own. If you use the one below, the italicized portions are the areas that will need to customize to the particular brand you’ve chosen and particular to your experience.
I love your clothing and have been a dedicated customer for [7 years]. I am also a conscious consumer and I care deeply about the health of our planet. I read through the [Responsibility] section of your website and I am pleased to see that you are committed to [fair labor practices] where your products are made. Well done!
I'd love to understand more how [your brand] is addressing the environmental impact of apparel waste and any plans to make your brand circular. I'm especially interested in being able to purchase a renewed option of [your brand] clothing and the chance to send my gently-used [your brand] clothing back to you for re-purposing rather than going to the landfill.
I’m sure you are aware that globally 80% of discarded textiles end up in landfill or are incinerated—only 20% are actually reused or recycled. As your customer, I am eager to hear from you regarding the changes you have made or plan to make—such as offering renewed options or a take back program—to reduce your impact on the environment.
