Meet Michelle - here and in person!

Name: Michelle Flores

Role: Director of Sales + Merchandising

Why do you work at RW?
After working in the fashion industry for nearly 15 years, I was so upset by the amount of waste I saw each day.  I had always worked in the industry and studied Fashion Merchandising in school, but my conscience was eating away at me.  When the job opportunity came up with Renewal Workshop, it wasn’t a role I was particularly interested in, but I knew I wanted to be a part of the team and always enjoyed working in start ups, seeing businesses grow from the ground up.  I started with Renewal Workshop in 2016 as the Product Photographer and worked for a year to transform my role into a more Sales based capacity.  It has been extremely rewarding to watch the company grow and to notice growth in myself in such a short period of time.  Coming to a job I can be proud of that I know is making a positive impact is the ultimate.

Lifehack/Tip/Suggestion/Recommendation?
I try to stay Renewed in all aspects of my life.  First and foremost I get to come to a job every day that is literally in the Renewal business, and, in my role, no two days are alike, which is how I work best.  TRW keeps me on my toes, fosters growth, and gives me a sense of pride unlike any other 'job' I've held.  Outside of work I choose to live renewed by eating vegan, practicing self-care through both physical activity and rest, and maintaining fulfilling relationships with some really inspiring women with whom I have been able to travel the world.  I also take care in the way I shop for clothing, home goods, and beauty products.  I try to only buy the things I need and I always make sure that those things are ethically and sustainably sourced by shopping local, vintage, or Renewed.  Sustainability is a common thread through my life which helps guide me in every decision I make.

Make sure you stop by to say "hi" to Michelle at all of our upcoming events!
