PEARL iZUMi Philosophy

August 15, 2019

We are proud to be partners with PEARL iZUMi.  A company that has demonstrated 60 years of advancements in cycling and athletic wear. Their consistent commitment to innovation is guided by emulating the approach of their founder and embodying the Kaizen philosophy: a belief in making small daily improvements to create large, impactful changes over time.

Kaizen means literally: Change (kai) and to become good (zen). Indeed, PEARL iZUMi has made small changes that do good things.  As an example, they were be the first bike brand to essentially “eliminate” hangtags. Critical information is now found on one tag the size of a business card, the smallest size that can still be recycled.  The new hangtags use 19,400 pounds less paper, saving 165 trees, 68,082 gallons of water and 4,503 gallons of oil annually.  More information on their Social Purpose can be found here.

Our commitment to make positive change in the apparel and textile apparel is illustrated by the equal impact of our partners, like PEARL iZUMi.
