Recycled Habits

August 01, 2019

Reuse is, in fact, a recycled idea.  If you have ever spent time with someone who lived through the Depression or who experienced the rations of World War II, you know they have ingrained behaviors formed during a time when there were no other options. Saving every scrap and repairing anything that had even the smallest chance of continued use, were practices formed out of necessity.  During more prosperous times, habitual preservation of this kind, seemed quaint if not even superfluous.  However, it is clear we are living in another era where reuse, repair, renewal are essential. If we're going to have a healthy planet, we have to be just as committed to sustaining what has been made as previous generations.

Our Brand Partner, NAU, has a vision to inspire a sustainable existence.  The Renewal Workshop joins NAU in hosting a 3-part workshop on Sustainability Beyond the Shopping Bag.  The Workshops, beginning this week, will focus on care and repair of your clothing, building a sustainable wardrobe, and upcycling.  Find out more at the NAU website.
