MARA HOFFMAN RENEWED

Our partnership with The Renewal Workshop is a critical step in our brand's evolution. We aim to design and manufacture our garments with greater care, to reduce our impact and to work towards true circularity. Since August 2018, we’ve sent 259 pounds of damaged Mara Hoffman garments to The Renewal Workshop for repair and subsequent resale. This collaboration increases the longevity of our garments by keeping them out of landfills and is instrumental to helping us achieve greater levels of sustainability.

OUR STORY

Mara Hoffman founded her label in 2000 after graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York City. Fifteen years later, the brand committed itself to implementing more sustainable and responsible practices. In an effort to foster mindful consumption habits, the brand maintains an open conversation about its approach and encourages consumers to reevaluate the relationship society has with clothing. The company continues to focus on sustainable materials, processes, and production in order to improve and extend each garment’s life. President and Creative Director, Mara Hoffman, presents collections with a devotion to color, each inspired by and in celebration of women.

OUR APPROACH

There are options and alternatives in this industry to manufacture responsibly. In 2015, we began learning and uncovering these possibilities and chose to address, change and relay the shifts we were making. We know that as we make improvements we will always encounter new challenges, and though this road is unending it will forever offer us room to change and grow.
